Detailed Itinerary

DAY
01-02
Welcome to the heartland
Casablanca
,
Morocco
Upon your arrival in Casablanca, the chief port and bustling financial hub, an airport representative will greet you and escort you through customs and immigration. After the formalities you will take your private transfer to your hotel. Begin your journey to Fes and en-route visit the sleepy imperial and historical city of Meknes nestled in the mountainous cluster of the Middle Atlas. Meknes was founded in the 17th century by King Moulay Ismail and is famous for its 25-mile-long walls. Later explore the ruins of the ancient city of Volubilis founded by Amazighs in the 3rd century BCE. It is one of the best preserved ancient sites in Morocco, and offers a fascinating insight into the city that once served as the capital of the kingdom of Mauretania, and later as one of the southernmost cities of the Roman Empire.

Witness crafts like leather making, handmade ceramic, silk weaving, sculpting and striking Berber rugs. As we move towards the town of Erfoud, en-route we meet the mineral mining city of Midelt, the stunning Ziz gorge and holy city of Rissani. Here is where one can find the ruins of Sijilmasa, once a capital, transit point for the merchants and ancient caravan routes of the 8th century. Continue your adventure at Erg Chebbi, one of Morocco’s two Saharan ergs, formed by the sand under influence of the wind. Its existence is so weird that it has given rise to legends and myths among the locals. You will then head to the Skoura-fertile oasis lined with gorgeous palm groves. What’s more, experience the unbelievable glory of the massive canyon walls of the Dades Gorge. At Skoura, your stay in the exotic kasbah of Dar Ahlam offers you various activities from camel and horse rides, cooking lessons, lunch near a tranquil lake or simply tour the beautiful places that surround the property.
