The magnificent gaur, the strikingly beautiful bluebull, the Barasingha or swamp deer and the ubiquitous langur monkeys are all here. Game drives are on the menu for both days. You may also catch sight of an exotic array of birds, such as orioles, egrets, hornbills, kingfishers and birds of prey, which are most likely found near the rivers.

Later drive to Satpura, one of India’s newer parks, excellent for bird watching, spotting gaurs (Indian bison) and sloth bears as well as the Bengal tiger. Happily, only 12 vehicles are allowed in the park at a time. This is the only park where walking is permitted, allowing you to set off on foot with your guide. On days 10 and 11, enjoy morning and afternoon safaris. Choose an open top jeep and set off in the early morning as life in the forest slowly wakes up to daylight.
