The wonder drink

We Indians love our cup of chai… and Masala Chai has a special place in our heart. Brewed with milk, tea powder, sugar, ginger and spices this drink is like a warm hug on a rainy day. While being absolutely flavourful this concoction also has therapeutic properties and is used as a remedy for mild ailments.

Method:

- Take a vessel and boil the two cups of water

- Grind cardamom and cloves into a powder and add it into the boiling water.

- Add the ginger and let it simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until it infuses into the water.

- Then add two and half tsp of tea powder and let the mixture boil for another 2 to 3 minutes.

- Now add the milk and sugar and break a few mint leaves and add that too into the mixture.

- Let it boil for a few minutes and enjoy the hot cup of Masala Chai with your favourite snack.

Enter the realm of spirituality

1897 Mark Twain wrote, “Benares is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together.”

Varanasi is a city where divinity can be felt everywhere. Devotees coming to Ganges to wash away their sins, offering their prayers in the evening“Aarti” or to let go of their loved ones, a journey to this city is sacred, soulful and stunning.

Integrating Ayurveda into our lives

Ayurveda is all about balance. This ancient healing system that originated in India, aims at preventing and relieving diseases in the body and mind through self-observation and self-care. Based on this ideology, integrating Ayurveda into our 21st century lifestyle is not about a total shunning of all that is ‘modern’. It is about finding space to blend in the Ayurvedic elements in our modern lives.
